“The arts are not just a nice thing to have or to do if there is free time or if one can afford it…They all define who we are as a people and provide an account of our history for the next generation.”

For me, theatre is a beautiful gift that provides humanity to humanity. What makes me want to pursue a career in this field so passionately is that we have an incredible opportunity to share an art form that connects us with one another, especially when we do so in an inclusive way. When not performing, I seek out and maintain Teaching Artist work throughout New York City. My background from gaining a second degree in Arts Administration has allowed me to have hands-on experience collaborating with local nonprofit organizations, as well as researching the transformative impact arts education has on early childhood development.

My favorite projects

Becoming an Arts Entrepreneur

Through my work as an Arts Administrator, I have had the opportunity to create two different business models for hypothetical organizations. Requirements for these projects included assessing industry descriptions; researching target market trends, direct and indirect competitors; creating competitive analysis reports, consumer maps, user personas, financial projections; and developing a prototype. Although hypothetical, I would be excited to develop and implement these into our current world, as I am optimistic in the positive impact these nonprofits would have on communities who lack proper and fair access to the arts.

Greenlight Art:

Greenlight Art’s hope is to make the arts more accessible to all demographics. Because of the large discrepancy between the perception of availability and the percentage of engagement in the performing arts, Greenlight Art aims to provide elementary and middle school children with the resources to participate in the performing arts regardless of monetary and geographic barriers.

Creative Arts Restoration Exploration (C.A.R.E.):

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we created Creative Arts Restoration Exploration (C.A.R.E.): The Streaming Service to Discover, Practice and Pursue Your Craft. C.A.R.E.’s vision is to support those who currently lack access to the arts and professional training, and struggling professional artists, by hosting virtual masterclasses.

Advocating for Arts Education

For my Senior Seminar course, I presented a policy brief on the impact the arts have on early childhood development. The research found highlighted the intellectual and social skills fostered from being exposed to artistic activities, and advocated for equitable arts education across the state of North Carolina.
